ZPJ Love Stories - Abby & Storm
Storm and Abby were great to work with and I love what we created together!
Storm and I communicated via email and the process was really seamless. It was then the same when we designed the wedding rings - emails back and forth until Abby and Storm were happy and then once I made the rings I couriered them straight to them. I feel like we chatted as friends as we figured out each design. It’s pretty cool that I can work with people all over the country to make their special pieces.
"Zoë was amazing! I didn't know much about rings when I went to design the engagement ring, just knew roughly what shape and colour Abby wanted. Zoë was great at understanding what we were looking for, providing options to choose from, and then helping to advise on diamond pairings. She nailed the brief! The wedding band was also easy, Zoë already knew what the engagement ring was like, so designing the wedding band to match felt natural. Taking Abby's direction this time she quickly picked up on what Abby wanted and designed the perfect ring!" - Storm
"(The ring) was absolutely perfect. The only inkling or input I had was a quiz on the stone shape so I was very in the dark. When I saw the ring it was exactly as I had imagined, Storm and Zoë nailed it! I have always since as long as I can remember, wanted a green coloured stone. It just suits me and is a colour I naturally gravitate towards. I love how the design feels modern but also slightly antique at the same time. It gives it a timeless feel but still being original which I love." - Abby

"Our proposal story is a bit unique in that we have 2 small children. At the time of the proposal, one was 3 and the other 6ish months. I had no idea that Storm was planning on proposing this particular day, although in hind sight he was acting very odd.
Our daughter was coming down with what we now know to be covid and croup, and Storm was still forcing me out the door to go to see my friends which was planned. On my way home I got a call saying he had taken the kids to the local paddocks to see the cows and the car had broken down. I found this super odd as this wasn't a common outing for us pre-bedtime but went to 'rescue' them.
When I arrived the car was there but no one was around. I then called Storm and he told me to walk down a path to where he was standing, nicely dressed and clearly ready to propose.
The proposal was super intimate, it was just us and a local fisherman. We then drank bubbles and went home to celebrate and later for dinner and drinks. The whole proposal was shortly lived as we ended up in hospital by 7am the next morning with our daughter, the life of getting engaged post kids." - Abby
"Our wedding was like something out of a dream. We had an intimate ceremony at my parents house in Greenhithe. It felt like a dreamy backyard garden party with all of our favourite people. We then had our reception at our local cafe/restaurant in Hobsonville, it was the most perfect night with all of our nearest sitting in 2 long tables on the deck outside. The speeches, a surprise haka and the vibe of the whole day was something we will never forget." - Abby
