Commissions
Unique commissioned pieces make up most of my work day-to-day. By blending modern and traditional processes there are endless opportunities as to what I can design and create for my clients. From engagement and wedding rings, to push presents, matching friendship rings and earrings for bridesmaids, I have made so many unique gifts over the years and I love working directly with clients to create beautiful, meaningful designs.
Step 1
Get in touch
To start your personalised design process, please complete my online enquiry form.
Whether you have an existing idea, a hint or no clue, this will give me an overview of the project and from there we can discuss the finer details.
Timeframes can vary depending on the design and materials, so it's best to get in touch as early as possible so we can get the ball rolling.
Step 2
Planning
It is always fun to sit down and make the initial plans! We can do this in-person at my workshop in Wellington or virtually in a way that suits you.
During this initial meeting I’ll be making rough sketches as we discuss your ideas and explore design options and materials.
As most of my designs are centred around stones, I will make sure to have some options to show you. I love to bring out a plain band and some blu-tac to work out how we will have the stones sitting on the hand.
Step 3
Design
Once I have an understanding of the materials and stones required from our planning appointment, I will be able to calculate the cost for your piece and will charge a 50% deposit prior to drawing up your design.
You will then receive a visual mockup so you can envision your bespoke piece before creation. Depending on the design this will be either a drawn sketch or an accurate computer-aided design (CAD) drawing.
From here we will make any necessary adjustments and finalise the design together.
Step 4
Sourcing & Creation
I will then source the raw materials from my trusted local suppliers, who share my ethical commitments and we can start bringing your design to life!
Depending on your design, it may be entirely handcrafted, or made through a combination of CAD technology alongside handcrafting, finishing and setting.
Upon completion and a final polish, your bespoke piece will be presented in a signature ZPJ box and we will arrange a pick up or delivery. It's as easy as that!
